Sebaceous Hyperplasia

What are Sebaceous Hyperplasia?

Small raised, bumps, milky-yellow colour, slight donut-shaped oily blemish, located on the face, forehead, nose and cheeks.

Why do they grow?

The cause is related to the activity of the glands within an oily skin type, slightly genetic, poor skincare, heavy skin products, over-use of SPF's and fake tans.

What are the treatment options? There are a few options when it comes to treating sebaceous hyperplasia. Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen), which freezes the blemish. Advanced Electrolysis, the preferred method for our clinic,  is a form of electro-cautery, the most refined and precise method. Its pin-point accuracy makes it a safe and effective option for this oily condition.

What is the recovery time?

Following the treatment, a temporary scab/crust will form. This will slough off once the skin has fully healed.

How many sebaceous hyperplasia can be treated at the appointment?

The amount treated will be discussed during the consultation. If you have a large amount, it is advisable to have treatment over two separate appointments.
