Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra
What are Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra?
Smooth, soft, slightly raised, dark papules located on the face and neck of Fitzpatrick skin types IV, V, VI.
Why do they grow?
The cause is genetic, but they develop further through age, friction, sun exposure, skin type.
What are the treatment options?
There are a few options when it comes to treating DPN's due to the risk of hyperpigmentation. Advanced Electrolysis is a form of electro-cautery, the most refined and precise method. The pre-sterilised, single-use probe gently taps on the surface of the blemish, gently drying out the moisture. A small crust is formed and sloughs off naturally once the skin has fully healed. This gently precise method avoids the surrounding healthy tissue.
What is the recovery time?
Following the treatment, a temporary scab/crust will form. This will slough off once the skin has fully healed.
How many DPN's can be treated at the appointment?
The amount treated will be discussed during the consultation. If you have a large amount, a treatment plan will be design to suit your individual needs.
What is the price of treatment?
Consultation only: £20
A singular DPN: £65
Multiple DPN: £90
*If treatment is received on the same day as the consultation, there is no consultation fee.
