What are Seborrhoeic Keratosis?
Also known as 'senile warts' and 'seborrhoeic warts'. The main identification points are their texture and attachment to the skin. Unlike warts, these are not viral blemishes.
Why do they grow?
The cause is genetic, but they develop further through age, friction, sun exposure, skin type.
What are the treatment options?
There are a few options when it comes to treating seborrhoeic keratosis. Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen), which freezes the blemish, a more aggressive method effecting the healing rate. Laser, which increases the cost due to expensive laser equipment cost. Advanced Electrolysis is a form of electro-cautery, the most refined and precise method. The keratosis is taken off using a pre-sterilised, single-use probe and a heat action.
What is the recovery time?
The healing is dependant upon the location of the tag and the size of the keratosis. Following the treatment, a temporary scab/crust will form during the treatment. This will slough off once the skin has fully healed.
How many keratoses can be treated at the appointment?
The amount treated will be discussed during the consultation. If you have a large amount, a treatment plan will be design to suit your individual needs.
